Edmonds’ Sister City Commission is seeking volunteers to fill openings on the commission, which consists of 12 non-paid volunteers serving three-year terms. Sister City Commissioners attend one 7 p.m. meeting on the fourth Monday of each month and participate in committee work, hold at least one executive position within the commission during their three-year term, and participate in activities involving visitors from their Sister City Hekinan, Japan throughout the year.

An interest in Japan and the Sister City philosophy and a willingness to serve the citizens of Edmonds is desirable. Applicants participate in an interview process and are selected, in part, based upon how their skills apply to the commission’s mission, functions and current and ongoing projects.
