Humann responds to findings of Cole report

Former City of Edmonds Human Resources Debi Humann sent this response Wednesday night regarding the findings of the independent investigation into former executive assistant Kim Cole’s claims of a hostile work environment and harassment:

“I have never experienced anything like this and find, not surprisingly, it is very difficult to live your life on the front page of the home town news and associated blogs. While the news reporting has been for the most part factual, I have newfound empathy for anyone who finds themselves in the news subjected to unfounded conjecture in community blogs. These comments, as you can imagine, are read by my grown children, my parents, my sister and brother, my neighbors and friends. The report released by the City of Edmonds today, I believe, provides facts that exonerate me of the allegations and many of the comments.

Since the report reflects a situation that is ongoing between me and the City of Edmonds, I am not able to comment specifically on the findings of the report. However, I am, of course, pleased that the facts are starting to come out and look forward to more of the same over the next month.”

  1. Well said Debi! Working with you for eight years was a great pleasure. You were always professional in your work. I knew all this was baloney but had to be worked through. You should have never been let go and then cutting your position in the most under staffed but important city department just compounds bad decisions made by the city. I know you will come out of this the better person.
