The Edmonds Port Commission took the following actions during its first scheduled public meeting of the year Monday:
• Witnessed the swearing in of newly elected Port Commissioner David Preston. He replaces former Commissioner Marianne Zagorski, who chose not to run again. Re-elected Commissioner Jim Orvis was sworn earlier.
• Elected new Commissioner officers for 2012. Fred Gouge was elected president, Bruce Faires vice president and Mary Lou Block, secretary.
• Dealt with routine first-of-the-year items, such as affirming the 2012 Commission meeting schedule and discussing various committee assignments.
The Commission’s next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 in the Port Commission meeting room. Fourth quarter operating reports and financial reports will be presented.
