Europe Through the Back Door’s Rick Steves spoke to an overflow crowd Saturday morning at the Edmonds Center For the Arts. Steves hosted four parties through the day and conducted free seminars with his company’s travel guides to more than 1,000 of his customers booked for tours in 2012.
Saturday’s program was titled “Test Drive A Tour Guide” and included presentations by Europe Through the Back Door tour guides who flew in from Europe for the one-day program that wrapped up with an evening presentation, the “Irreverent History of Rick Steve’s Tours.”
Steves, a lifetime Edmonds resident, is best known for his 50 guidebooks on European travel as well as serving as the host of the most popular travel series in America on public television and a weekly hour-long travel talk show on National Public Radio. His headquarters are in downtown Edmonds.
