Clubs & Activities: I am the President of the Black Student Union.
Athletics: I have been on the basketball team all four years in high school. My senior year I made varsity basketball which we have an overall record of 9-4. I played freshman football and ran track my freshman and sophomore year.
Community Service: I have started a program called Future Responsible Empowered Students of Honor. It is a program that I have started through my Black Student Union where we go to an elementary school and mentor kids 4th through 6th grade not only with emotional problems but academic challenges they might face. I am the President of the Black Student Union. We held two food drives, one to provide nutritious shakes for families where we spent 6 hours collecting money and we in the end provided shakes for 700 families. Also we did a food drive for a family that has been hit with cancer from their daughter and also their father who has kidney cancer, we were able to raise $1,200 in cash and three trunkfuls of non-perishable food.
Culminating Project:  For my culminating project I am doing a class extended project in architectural drafting where I am spending 20 extra hours drafting and constructing an airport in Guatemala.
Current Employment:  I am currently employed at Famous Footwear shoe store where I have been employed for over a year now. Also, I have a paper route that I have had since 8th grade.
Future Educational Goals: My future goals are to graduate college with my BA in civil engineering or business finance. And also get my master’s degree in architectural engineering.
Future Career Goals: My future career goals are to own my own architect firm and be able to not only build houses but commercial buildings as well.

Culminating Project: Extended essay (4,000 words – required for the I.B. diploma) on the Optimization of Aerodynamic Drag Coefficients in Bicycle Design. I performed experiments at the University of Washington Kirsten Wind Tunnel in order to carry out my investigation.
Current Employment: Molecular Biology Lab Assistant, University of Washington (July 2011 – Ongoing) Elderly and Disabled Assistant, Private Community Households (May 2011 – Ongoing)
Future Educational Goals: B.S. in biomedical engineering, Master’s degree or doctorate in either genetics or genetic engineering

Scriber Lake High

Clubs & Activities: Has participated in Y-Make Art afterschool art making program through the YMCA and Scriber Lake High School
Athletics: Holds a personal record of 250 sit-ups in one sitting!
Honors: Has received recognition for achievements in many subjects over several years, including in English, math, reading, history and art.
Awards: Has been selected for the Hidden Winner Award from the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club
Community Service: Volunteers periodically at a pet daycare center in Edmonds.
Culminating Project: Nate’s culminating project investigates and reports on military service and dog training. One interesting finding: dogs are usually considered soldiers, and have been awarded medals for their service.
Future Career Goals: Nate plans to serve in the Army after a one-year break after high school. After serving in the military, he envisions creating a haven for abused animals such as dogs that cannot live among humans.
Anything else we should know? Nate is an avid reader, reading approximately one book per week when he can find good ones. He also likes video games and wilderness survival.

Honors: Special recognition received for being a top student and having good attendance in English class; Special recognition for artistic skills in art class.
Awards: Accepting the Challenge of Excellence Award from the Edmonds Exchange Club
Community Service: Has volunteered at PAWS assisting in the cat ward

Future Educational Goals: Massage Therapy School
Future Career Goals: Greyson aims to become a massage therapist and/or physical therapist
