Matthew Weston, owner of Edmonds-based Fowler photography, took second place in last week’s Professional Photographers of America “Grand Imaging Awards”  competition in New Orleans.

Weston’s photograph titled “Visual Sound” achieved 2nd place in this competition.

The Grand Imaging Awards are awarded to the Best of the Best Photographers selected from the PPA’s International Photographic Competition. Weston’s photograph, “Visual Sound,” received second place in the Commercial Division.

In “Visual Sound,” Weston combined his love of photography with his love of guitars. He used special lighting actually within the guitar itself as well as in the studio to highlight the features of this “Zion” Cornerstone Guitar crafted by Peter Marrerios.

Fowler Portraits has been in business since 1949. Weston has worked at Fowler Portraits since 1986, and has owned the studio since 1991.
