Do you ever wish you could get your kids to try new foods? One idea is to involve them in meal preparation. Learn how at Healthier Choices – a free family event at Meadowdale Elementary School in Lynnwood on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Co-sponsored by Swedish/Edmonds and the Edmonds School District with support from the Verdant Health Commission, Top Food and Drug and PCC Natural Markets, Healthier Choices will feature cooking demonstrations and nutrition advice from Swedish/Edmonds registered dietitian Megan Ellison, and a special video appearance by internationally known culinary and television personality, Graham Kerr. Best known as The Galloping Gourmet, Kerr lives in Skagit County and is committed to helping people make healthy, creative, lifestyle changes to increase consumption of fresh, local edible plants and seafood.
The second event in the Healthier Choices series is an opportunity for families to learn fun ways to involve children in meal preparation, hear some tips for making cooking faster and try some kid-friendly meal ideas. You can read about the first event here.
Recipes, prizes and free food samples will be offered at the Healthier Choices event and Spanish translation will be provided. For more information, visit swedish.org/classes.
