Teen fight cause of police activity in downtown Edmonds Saturday night

We received an inquiry from a reader Saturday night about police shining spotlights in yards along Sunset Avenue, so we asked Edmonds police what was happening at that time.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Mike Blackburn, at 9:14 p.m. Saturday officers were dispatched to a reported fistfight that broke out at a teen party in the 300 block of 3rd Avenue North. “Three juvenile males reportedly got into a fight with a 16-year-old Edmonds boy and then fled on foot before police arrived,” Blackburn said in an email. Assisting officers conducted an area check, which may have included the residential area in question, he added.

The 16-year old boy and his family declined to pursue the matter and asked that police conduct no additional investigation.
