Congressman Jim McDermott will be visiting Edmonds this Friday, March 9 at 1 p.m. to tour small businesses, followed by a question-and-answer session at the Edmonds Senior Center.

McDermott, who is running for re-election to his 12th Congressional term in November, is visiting Edmonds to get to know the new parts of the 7th Congressional District. All of Washington’s Congressional Districts have been redrawn by the Washington State Redistricting Commission. Edmonds will officially become part of the 7th District on Jan. 4, 2013, but McDermott’s name will appear on the ballot of Edmonds voters in November.

The day will begin at Walnut Street Coffee at 1 p.m. Joining Congressman McDermott will be Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, Edmonds City Councilmember and small business owner Strom Peterson, Edmonds Senior Center board member Rose Cantwell, and other members of the Edmonds City Council.

The afternoon will end at the Edmonds Senior Center where McDermott will meet Edmonds residents and answer questions at 3:30 pm.  All are welcome to attend.
