The Warriors opened league play with a five-run first inning, including a three-run homer by Patrick Bernard, to dominate the Bruins 9-0 Tuesday on Cascade’s home field. During the game, which was broadcast via Warrior Radio, pitcher Ryan Budnick was named the Edmonds Sports Academy Player of the Game for his complete-game shutout. Budnick also went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.
E-W hosts Cascade in a 4 p.m. game Wednesday, which will also be broadcast live on Warrior Radio.

Three Mavericks — Riley Bykonen, Ryan White and Ethan Coffey — had doubles in Meadowdale’s non-league loss to Snohomish Tuesday.
