Mudslide cancels Thursday morning Sounder commuter train service

Sound Transit has canceled its commuter rail service from Everett to Seattle Thursday morning due to a mudslide blocking the tracks near Everett.

Edmonds-Seattle commuters can take Community Transit Route 416, which will depart at 6:35 a.m. and 6:55 a.m. These times do not correspond with the regular Sounder schedule.

Monitor www.soundtransit.org for updates to Sounder Northline service prior to your Thursday evening commute.

  1. Mudslides don’t bode well for any train, especially for 9 mile and a half long coal trains passing daily through Edmonds if the port at Cherry Point is approved.
