Sherwood Elementary kindergarten teacher wins gift card for school supplies

Libby LeCompte, a kindergarten teacher at Edmonds’ Sherwood Elementary School, is this week’s recipient of the Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program.

LeCompte is well known for her dedication to going above and beyond for her students and their parents. Her colleagues admire her creativity in teaching Sherwood students self-confidence and problem-solving skills.

She was nominated for this award by Heather Margo, the parent of one of LeCompte’s students, who describes her as enthusiastic and “a cornerstone to Sherwood Elementary.”

“As the kindergarten teacher she is the one who welcomes the children and their families to the Sherwood community,” Margo said. “And what a wonderful welcoming these first-year children receive!”

LeCompte will use the gift card to purchase supplies for end-of-the-year scrapbooks, stationary supplies and art supplies – things that she usually spends hundreds of dollars of her own on.

The Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program gives a $100 OfficeMax gift card each week to a deserving Washington State Public school teacher and his/her class. Anyone can nominate a teacher for this program, including teachers, students, parents and administrators.
