2009 Meadowdale High School grad dies at Fort Hood

A 2009 Meadowdale High School graduate serving in the Army died at Fort Hood, Texas last week of apparent natural causes.

Specialist Joshua Aaron Martin, 20, entered active duty in October 2009 as a cavalry scout and was assigned to Fort Hood since February 2010, Lynnwood Today reported.

Martin deployed in support of Operation New Dawn from August 2010 to August 2011.

Martin’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.

Circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation.
