EWHS Black Student Union to present ‘Freedom of Expression’ performances Friday

The Black Student Union of Edmonds-Woodway High School is presenting Freedom of Expression, an evening of diverse performances, at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 27, at the Black Box Theatre on the Edmonds Community College campus, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.

Freedom of Expression is designed to showcase students and community members from Snohomish County. Performances vary from song and dance to poetry and live music. “Unlike a talent show, this event is an opportunity for participants to express themselves without judgment, producing a variety show unlike any other,” a new release from Edmonds Community College said.

Closing out the night is Unexpected Productions, Seattle’s longest running improv group, who will present a short skit that encourages audience participation.

Tickets are $10 and include light appetizers; children 12 and under get in free. Arrive early to purchase raffle tickets for prizes, including gift cards and an iPod touch.

A portion of the night’s proceeds benefit the EWHS Black Student Union. This event is sponsored by the Snohomish County NAACP, Snohomish County YMCA and Edmonds Community College
