Issaquah administrator chosen to fill assistant superintendent job in Edmonds

The Edmonds School District announced Monday that Patrick Murphy has been chosen as the new Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools, replacing Dr. Ken Limón who is retiring at the end of June. Other candidates for the job included Edmonds-Woodway High School principal Michelle Trifunovic, Mountlake Terrace High School principal Greg Schwab and Meadowdale Middle School principal Christine Avery.

Murphy has worked as Executive Director of Secondary Education for the Issaquah School District for the past four years. He also has experience in multiple districts, having served 12 years as a middle school principal and high school assistant principal in the Issaquah School district, plus time as a junior high assistant principal in Bremerton. He taught social studies in the South Kitsap School District before going to Bremerton.

He begins his new job in Edmonds July 1.
