Regarding the Internet threat that caused the closure of Meadowdale High School Friday, Lynnwood police confirmed that the FBI is helping with the investigation.
Lynnwood Police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said that a posting late Thursday night on a blog contained a specific threat regarding the school. Police contacted Edmonds School District officials, who decided it was in the best interest of students and staff to close the high school. It’s not known if the threat is credible.
Parents of Meadowdale High students received a message early Friday morning announcing that school was closed for the day.
One Meadowdale parent told us that senior and junior projects were due at the high school today, and that her daughter had been up late Thursday night working on hers.
Edmonds School District spokeswoman DJ Jakala said Friday morning that it wasn’t known yet if Friday’s after-school activities, including sports and sports practices, would be canceled.
