Yes, I want want to support My Edmonds News!North Sound Church in Edmonds will join Christian churches worldwide in commemorating the last week of Lent and Jesus’ final days on earth. Easter, a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, will be celebrated during the 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on April 8 at Edmonds Conference Center, 201 4th Ave. N. A baptism service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the North Sound sanctuary, located across the street from the Conference Center at 404 Bell St. Child care will be available during all three services.
A Maundy Thursday communion service is set for 7 p.m. April 5 at North Sound. The service, which derives its name from the Latin word for “command,” commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus and His apostles, according to church tradition.
At 7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 6, a Tenebrae service will be held at North Sound. The solemn service that takes its name from the Latin word for “shadows” recreates the emotional aspects of the Passion, or crucifixion, of Christ.
