ADJOURN
In 2010, my sisters and I “purchased” a bench for $2000 to honor our mother and father in the park at Haines Wharf. The bench was installed and the plaque set. Everything is great as far as it goes. However, the location requires walking up a small grassy hill. I believe it was originally planned to have steps put there, but this must have gotten lost during the overrun costs of the park.
This creates a safety problem. If people try to walk up to the bench, they are walking on grass. It can be slippery on the best of days.
When you are reviewing future walkway work at the park, please consider putting in some railroad tie steps, or somthing that will make it easier to get to the bench. My mother is almost 92 and it is a problem for her to get to “her” bench.
Thank you,
Patrick Sutherland
