The community is invited to give their feedback on the narrowed down field of possible math materials that will be used by Edmonds School District sixth- through eighth-graders beginning in fall 2012. A review of the materials is set for Tuesday, May 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Educational Services Center, 20420 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Three years ago, the District adopted a K-5 math curriculum called Math Expressions, resulting in improved individual student growth as well as state assessment results. Math Expressions was selected for grade 6 so it aligns with the existing elementary-level materials, but the district is now looking at a narrowed list of options for grades 7-8.
On May 22, publisher representatives and members of the Middle School Mathematics Team will be on hand to answer questions and community members are encouraged to review and provide written input about the materials under consideration.
