The 5th Annual Alderwood-Terrace Rotary Concours d’Elegance at The Wood, featuring Classic, Sports & Muscle Cars, has unveiled three of the 60-car field expected to be on display on the 18th fairway of the Lynnwood Golf Course on June 23.
A 1951 Blower Bentley Special has a straight 8 – B 80 Rolls Royce/Bentley engine with a supercharger/blower on the front end. The car, one of only two built for private use by Peterson Engineering in the UK, has an all handcrafted polished aluminum body over a Rolls Royce/Bentley chassis.
The 1998 West Coast Champion in A-Production Vintage class racing will also be on display. This 1967 Corvette Stingray has an L-88 427 cubic engine and has raced in most major events around the US. The car has been raced in the Northwest since 2000.
One of the more unusual entries is a 1978 Frisbee Lola, a single seat Can-Am racing car. It was developed from a 1978 Lola T333 chassis and driven by Al Unser, Jr, 1982 champion, Jacques Villeneuve, Sr., 1983 champion and Rick Miaskiewicz, 1985 champion.
The featured marque of the Concours d’Elegance at The Wood is SOVREN Historic racing cars. Additionally, the show includes muscle cars, sports cars and classics. The Porsche 356 Group Northwest will fill the Sports Car category.
There will be no admission charge, although guests are invited to make donations in support of the Rotary Club’s Foundation, which benefits a variety of youth-oriented activities. Additionally, a wine tasting will be offered for sale. Enjoy a fashion show by local designers, Lucy Loves Ethel and Mac Fashion House. The show will be open from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Lynnwood Golf Course, 20200 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Harris Private Bank is the title sponsor for this event.
