Fire District 1 Fire Calls, week of May 10-16

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 368 calls the week of May 10-16: 288 emergency medical aid calls, 25 motor vehicle collisions, 22 fires, 18 service calls, 2 gas leaks and 13 automatic fire alarms.

May 11
COLLISION:  At 5:46 p.m., a car struck a motorcyclist in the 1700 block of Filbert Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported the motorcyclist to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

May 12
CAR FIRES:  At 3:07 a.m., a car fire was reported in the 2700 block of Lincoln Way north of Lynnwood. Firefighters arrived to find one car engulfed in flames. Two other cars sustained heat damage. Damage to all three vehicles is estimated at $42,000. While the firefighters were awaiting the arrival of a fire investigator, a second car fire was reported a half-block away. Fire damage to this car was confined to the passenger side of the vehicle and is estimated at $20,000. Both fires are being investigated as arson.

COLLISION:  At 10:38 p.m., a car struck a pole in the 18700 block of Larch Way east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

May 13
TRUCK FIRE:  At 3:12 p.m., a truck fire was reported in the 500 block of 128th Street Southwest south of Everett.  The truck was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. They quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.

BRUSH FIRE:  At 3:21 p.m., firefighters quickly extinguished a brush fire on the west side of southbound SR-525 east of Highway 99.

May 14
COLLISION:  At 2:15 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a collision at 220th Street Southwest and 70th Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.

COLLISION:  At 7:31 p.m., two boys under the age of 11 were injured when the mini-motorbike they were riding collided with a car in the 5800 block of 120th Southeast east of Everett. Firefighters transported one boy with serious injuries to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and the other boy to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

May 15
COLLISION:  At 5:15 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at Filbert Drive and Filbert Road east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

May 16
DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 12:18 a.m., firefighters extinguished a dumpster fire in the 7300 block of 213th Place Southwest in Edmonds.

COLLISION:  At 1:32 p.m., a motorcycle and a car collided on Alderwood Mall Parkway just south of 164th St. Southwest north of Lynnwood. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was transported by firefighters to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

COLLISION:  At 4:08 p.m., a car struck a telephone pole at Filbert Road and Larch Way east of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 4:08 p.m., a collision was reported at 44th Avenue West and Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.
