The Meadowdale High School softball team didn’t stop fighting on Friday, but was finally knocked out of the state 3A softball tournament after one thrilling come-from-behind win and two losses.
The Mavs started off the day with a bang, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Peninsula High School 4-3 in the opening round. The next opponent would prove much tougher, as Meadowdale fell to Kamiakin of Kennewick, 10-0 in six innings. In the third loser-out game, Meadowdale lost 3-2 to Wilson High School of Tacoma.
The Mavericks ended their season 18-8.
