Now’s the time to be preparing your garden for the Edmonds in Bloom Garden Competition. The weather is warming and gardens are ready for the special touches that make a garden look beautiful.
Forms for entering the competition are available at Bountiful Home, Log Cabin, Garden Gear, the Edmonds Library and the Frances Anderson Center. You may also enter online at www.edmondsinbloom.com.
Remember that a new category for veggies and fruit in your front garden has been added. Residences including apartments, town homes and balconies are all eligible. Businesses may enter, receive one of the flags and be part of the event that celebrates floral beauty. Businesses are non-competitors.
The committee encourages new gardeners to enter. The deadline is July 3 and the awards reception is open to all entrants and citizens the evening of Aug. 8 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. Questions should be directed to Barbara Chase at 425-697-3552 or Joyce Johnson at 425-774-7865.
Real first and last names — as well as city of residence — are required for all commenters.
