According to news from oregonlive.com, Edmonds-Woodway High School alumnus Owen Jones has been named to the 2012 NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) All-American Third Team.
Jones, a 2007 Edmonds-Woodway grad who was a closer for the University of Portland, was taken in the 19th round of last week’s Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jones, with an ERA of 1.24 this season, ranked sixth nationally in saves, while his nine stops during league play were a conference best, oregonlive.com said. He is the son of Greg and Wendy Jones of Edmonds.
