A playful take on Main Street flower basket poles

Now appearing on Main Street: flower basket pole artwork by Peter Reiquam.

Have you noticed the new artwork by Peter Reiquam on Main Street? Look for his “Big Toys” on top of three new flower basket poles west of 3rd Avemue.

In 2010, the Edmonds Arts Commission created a new program to assist with the replacement of aging flower basket poles in the downtown corridor and to create unique sculptural elements to be enjoyed throughout the year. The placement of commissioned artwork on the new poles will eventually create an outdoor exhibit stretching along parts of Main Street and 5th Avenue.

The Flower Pole Program is an opportunity through the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department Gifts Program to honor a loved one or commemorate a special person or organization with a plaque placed on the side of the unique art-enhanced flower pole.
