The Edmonds-based Driftwood Players announce auditions Aug. 5-6 for “The 39 Steps.”
Adapted by Patrick Barlow from the 1915 John Buchan novel and the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film, this 2008 Tony Award-winning tale combines a juicy spy novel with a dash of Monty Python for a fast-paced whodunit.
Directed by Ted Jaquith, auditions are Sunday, Aug. 5 from 5 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 6 from 7 p.m. at the Driftwood Administrative Office, 306 Main St., Edmonds. There are parts for one man and one woman (ages 25-40) + two roles (any gender) who play all other roles.
Prepare two contrasting monologues (not to exceed three minutes total), and bring picture and resume or a recent photo.
Appointments may be made online at www.driftwoodplayers.com or by calling 425-774-9600.
Performances are Oct. 18-21 at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds
