The Edmonds-based Miss Peters and May hydroplane was the fifth-fastest qualifier Friday for this weekend’s Indiana Governor’s Cup in Madison, Indiana. Driver J. W. Myers qualified the boat at an average speed of 142 mph. You, the Spirit of Qatar, with driver Dave Vilwock, was the top qualifier at just under 149 mph.
Crew chief Scott Raney and team manager Shannon Raney were thrilled with the results. The two are co-owners of the boat along with driver Myers. The boat has undergone extensive refinements during the winter at the Edmonds-based shop.
Racing begins Saturday at 10 a.m. Edmonds time and will finish up Sunday at 1 p.m. Look for updates and final results here on My Edmonds News.
