Every Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening during July and August, the Port of Edmonds is hosting a series of casual jazz performances called Sea Jazz.
The event, which features mainly award-winning jazz musicians from local high schools, takes place at the Plaza at the Port of Edmonds. (This is the area directly on the water side of the Anthony’s Home Port building.)
Sunday performances are from 1-3 p.m. while Wednesday events are from 5-7 p.m. The series, which started last weekend with musicians from the Mountlake Terrace High School Jazz Band, resumes this Sunday, July 8, and continues through Wednesday, Aug. 29.
The events are all sponsored by the Port of Edmonds and at the end of the series, the Port will be providing an honorarium to the school music programs. Any money people donate during the performance will go to the musicians themselves. Anthony’s Beach Cafe is providing the young musicians with a complimentary meal as well.
Co-sponsors of Sea Jazz are the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club and the Edmonds Jazz Connection.
