Cascade Symphony Orchestra to hold auditions Aug. 21

Auditions for open positions in the Cascade Symphony Orchestra and for lists of substitutes are scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 21  at Meadowdale High School, 6002 168th St. S.W., Lynnwood. Players are needed in the violin, viola and string bass sections.

Founded in 1962, the Cascade Symphony performs under the direction of Michael Miropolsky and makes its home in Edmonds. The symphony performs five subscription concerts, a children’s concert and one ensemble concert each season. Past performances have included collaborations with local arts groups, travel expert Rick Steves, and internationally known soloists. Subscription concert dates for the 51st season are Oct. 22 and Dec. 10, 2012 and Jan. 21, March 18 and May 13, 2013. The children’s concert will be Feb. 23 and the ensemble concert April 14, 2013.
