City of Mountlake Terrace downs Edmonds in annual softball game

The City of Mountlake Terrace scored a 20-10 victory over the City of Edmonds in the annual softball rivalry game between the two cities Thursday night at Meadowdale Playfields.

According to City of Edmonds Recreation Coordinator Todd Cort, the game has been going on for a dozen years, the brainchild of former Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson and Cort when he worked for at the City of Mountlake Terrace.

“It’s a great time to get both cities together and enjoy an evening activity,” Cort said. “We always end the evening with a picnic and a chance to socialize with both teams.” This year, players came from several City of Edmonds departments as well as City Councilmember Frank Yamamoto.

“it was great to get to know everyone,” Cort said. “I think even though we lost everyone had a good time.”
