Thanks to the generous tips donated by A Taste of Edmonds attendees, the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday will be presenting a $5,839 check to the Edmonds Boys and Girls Club.

The donation is the result of tips received from beer and wine garden patrons at the popular event presented by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce. The contribution sets a record for the amount that the Edmonds Chamber has donated to the Boys and Girls Club, located at 310 6th Ave. N.

The $5,839 check will be presented to the club during the Edmonds Chamber Networking Breakfast at Fairwinds Brighton Court.

“Each year we are very thankful for this opportunity that is presented to us,” said Mike Kranz, Boys and Girls Club unit director. “The number of children enrolled in our after-school program is projected to be up from last year so the timing of this donation is perfect. In two weeks, when the girls and boys of Edmonds return to school, they will again benefit from the generosity of the Edmonds Chamber.”

“We are pleased to make a difference in the lives of children in our community,” said Edmonds Chamber President Ron Clyborne. “We also want to give credit for this donation to the dedicated volunteers of A Taste of Edmonds, who make this event possible. The donation to the Edmonds Boys and Girls Club represents the teamwork of the Edmonds community.”
