Another update: The garage sale will continue on Sunday. Here’s a link to more details on the story, from MLTnews.com.
From MLTnews.com, we are posting this information about the death of softball coach Mike Watson, as we are told he has many friends and former players he coached in Edmonds. All are invited to support the family by attending garage sale today, Saturday, in Mountlake Terrace. We will also be providing additional details on a fund that will be set up for the family, as soon as that becomes available.

Updated Saturday at 8:55 a.m. with garage sale information.
Mountlake Terrace High School parent Melissa Reid notes that a garage sale is being held today, Saturday, Aug. 18, for the family of MLT resident Mike Watson, who died Friday morning after suffering a heart attack earlier this week.
The garage sale had been “preplanned for a different reason and naturally evolved into a family support event,” Reid said. “Besides the fantastic items to buy, it’s been a place of sharing, caring, laughing, crying and healing,” Reid said. “We will have notecards available that people can share stories or messages. Or they can drop off a scrapbook page they’ve made; all of these will become part of a scrapbook for his wife and daughters.”

Watson, who was 48, had a heart attack while driving on Wednesday, leading to a traffic jam, and was taken to Swedish Hospital in Edmonds.
Watson is survived by his wife, Kellie, and two daughters, Kayla and Kelsey. Kayla played softball at Mountlake Terrace High School and was on the team at Central Washington before suffering a knee injury. Kelsey will be a senior at Mountlake Terrace this fall and also plays softball. Donations for the family are being accepted at BECU branches under the Memorial of Michael Watson account.
No date has been set yet for Watson’s memorial service, which will be at the Alderwood Community Church.
