My Edmonds News presents the Dog of the Week, Lily, a 3-year-old Lab/Shar Pei mix, from Forever Home Dog Rescue. You can find out more about Lily below.
Forever Home founder Diane Swanberg notes that Forever Home Dog Rescue is desperately looking for more foster families. “We have three dogs right now that are waiting to come into rescue but I have them on hold as we don’t have enough foster spaces for them,” Swanberg said. “The shelters are also asking us to take some of their dogs that aren’t doing well in the shelter due to the noise and chaos there. Often the little ones or more frightened ones do much better in foster homes.”
Anyone interested in fostering for two weeks to six months (depending on how long it takes for the dog to be adopted) should email Swanberg at info@foreverhomedogrescue.org. “There’s an interview and a home visit and that’s it. We take care of all the vet care and advice/suggestions on how to work with the dogs,” she said.
Here’s Lily’s story:
Lily is a 3 year old Lab/Shar Pei mix. Lily was surrendered by her owner due to having to return to work and a very long commute. She couldn’t bear to have her dogs at home alone for 12 hours a day. Lily was very loved and cared for and it shows in her disposition. She is wonderful with other dogs and with kids. She is very easy going and incredibly loyal. She would be a good choice for a first-time dog owner or for a family.
Lily is spayed, current on vaccinations, flea/tick treated and microchipped. Lily’s adoption fee is $350.
If you are interested in adopting Lily, here’s the process:
- Fill out the Adoption Application and email it to info@foreverhomedogrescue.org
- Your application will be screened and you will receive a phone call with more information.
- A Meet and Greet will be set up. All members of your household (dogs and humans) must attend the meet and greet.
- Pay the adoption fee, sign the adoption contract and receive the dog’s health records
