Edmonds City Council to meet in executive session, then committees Tuesday

The Edmonds City Council is scheduled to meet briefly in executive session Tuesday night, followed by Council committee meetings.

The executive session, to discuss potential litigation, begins at 5:45 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N. It is not open to the public but no council actions are expected as a result.

The agenda for the 6 p.m. committee meetings, which are work sessions for the City Council and staff, are as follows:

The city council meeting agenda states:”Convene in executive session regarding potential litigation per RCW 42.30.110(1)(i).” If we are going to have a city government that truly practices transparency, the RCW’s that are quoted need to be defined because the average citizen will not take the time to determine what those numbers mean.
    It would be more helpful if the agenda stated “Convene in executive session, as allowed by RCW 42.30.110(1)(i), to discuss with legal counsel representing the city litigation or potential litigation by (or against, if that’s applicable) an employee.
