Here are Edmonds-Woodway High School music activities scheduled for the next few weeks:

Sept. 27: Dedication Concert for our Steinway Piano, John Hansen Trio, Jazz I and the Mello-Aires – 7:30pm.
Sept. 28-29: Bel Canto Retreat – Camp Burton on Vashon
Oct. 2: Music Boosters Meeting – 7 p.m. – Choir Room
Oct. 4: Marching Band Photo – 9:20 a.m.
Oct. 5: Homecoming Game – 5 p.m. – Pep Band
Oct. 13: PLU Orchestra Festival – Chamber Orchestra
Oct. 16: Fall Concert – Wind Symphony and Chamber Orchestra

Dedication Concert for new Steinway Piano — Thursday, Sept. 27
Come celebrate the new Steinway Grand Piano generously donated by Mary Allen and the E-W Music Booster Club. The evening will feature EWHS’s award-winning Mello-Aires and Jazz Ensemble I, plus Seattle Jazz pianist and composer John Hansen with Jon Hamar (bass) and Adam Kessler (drums). Join us in the EWHS Little Theater at 7:30pm. $5 suggested donation.

Entertainment Books on Sale now – Support the Music Program!
Music students are currently selling Entertainment books. All mo.ney must be turned in to the office (checks made payable to ESD)

Band Fees are all due this week

The Green Band Polo Shirt ($17 check to ESD) — if you don’t have one already.

October Music Booster Meeting – Oct 2
The October Booster meeting is Tuesday, Oct 2 in the Orchestra/Choir room.

Marching Band – Picture Day and Homecoming
All of the band students will be getting into their Marching Band Uniforms for a group picture on Thursday, Oct 4 at advisory  (9:20 a.m). They will also wear their uniform during the Homecoming Game on Friday, Oct 5 so will need to be dressed mid-afternoon that day. We will need six parents to be at the school 45 minutes before the students need to get dressed and during the time they are dressing. After each of these events , we need six parents for approximately one hour to help put all the uniforms back into the storage area. Pacific Lutheran Orchestra Festival – Oct 13 – Parent Chaperones Needed
Chamber Orchestra will be attending the Pacific Lutheran University orchestra festival in Tacoma on Saturday, Oct. 13. The orchestra will perform in the beautiful Lagerquist concert hall on the PLU campus. Contact Mrs. Helseth if you have any questions, or would like to be a chaperone.
