It’s been a while since the Edmonds City Council has met in regular session, and as a result Tuesday’s meeting features a packed agenda, including the following items:
— Consideration of an interim zoning ordinance to allow farmers markets in Edmonds business zones outside of the current “seasonal” May-September time frame. The ordinance would accommodate a request by an organization to operate a farmers market on Wednesday evenings “at least through the autumn” in Edmonds.
–A report to the Council on the 2013 budget review and adoption schedule, including the following dates:
Sept. 25
2013 Budget Review Work Session
Oct. 9
Finance Committee – Review Property Tax Ordinance
Oct. 16
Presentation of Preliminary 2013 Budget, with a brief overview of the exhibits, layout and changes
Oct. 23/30
Budget Work Sessions
Nov. 5
Public Hearing – Revenue sources including property tax increases
Public Hearing – 2013 Budget
Property Tax Resolution and Ordinance
Nov. 20
Public Hearing – 2013 Budget
— Possible action on an Edmonds Police services contract with Town of Woodway, which is being revisited after an earlier council discussion in which some councilmembers stated Woodway wasn’t paying enough.
— A staff presentation on chip seals, a pavement surface treatment option for extending the life of street pavement.
— Update on Regional Fire Authority and Authorization to sign Interlocal Agreement between representatives from Edmonds, Woodway, Mukilteo, Mountlake Terrace, Brier, Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Fire District 1 and Fire District 7. The agreement would allow the entities to hire a consultant to review work of the Regional Fire Authority to date.
— Discussion and possible action regarding taking minutes/notes during executive sessions, another issue that has received robust discussion during past council sessions.
— Public comment on the Nonrepresented Employee Compensation Study.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N., Edmonds. You can see the complete agenda here. In addition, note that the Council will meet a half-hour before the regular meeting — at 6:30 p.m. for an executive session regarding labor negotiations.
Teresa, just want to thank you for keeping us posted on the agendas for the meetings. It is so helpful!
Thanks!
