Here are some upcoming fundraising events that benefit Edmonds-area organizations and causes:
The annual Snohomish County Boys and Girls Club “Reach for the Stars” auction, Saturday Oct. 20 at the Ed Hansen Conference Center at Comcast Arena in Everett. It takes about $350 a year to provide a safe, secure, fun place for kids who attend the Boys and Girls Club, covering everything from sports and crafts to computers and snacks. You can help by attending and bidding on an array of items, from a hot tub to fine wine and more. Tickets are $100 and you can register at bgcsc.org.
The third annual Cabernet Classic, billed as “a showcase of artisan winemakers and hand-crafted cabernets and cab blends,” benefiting local food banks through Rotary First Harvest, Saturday, Oct. 20 from 6-9 p.m. at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 6th Ave., Seattle. Tickets are $50 and available at rotaryfirstharvest.org.
A “Brew & Bluegrass” fundraiser benefiting Clothes for Kids on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7-10 p.m. at the Everett Yacht Club.
Tickets are $25 and include five tastings of beer or root beer from local breweries Big E Ales, Ninkasi Brewing, Full Sail Brewing, Maritime Pacific Brewing, American Brewing Company, and others, as well as live music from bluegrass bands Stillwater Hill, Money Creek Mining Company, and 7 Chord Pileup — and the opportunity to vote for your favorite brew.
