Mayor invites Cash Mob downtown on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mayor Dave Earling invites the community to a Flash Mob.

Mayor Dave Earling sent an invitation to the community:

“Hello to all of you who with an interest in Edmonds! I hope this e-mail finds you well and looking forward to both Halloween and a happy holiday season in November and December! As most of you know we are right in the middle of completely rebuilding Main Street from 5th to 6th in downtown Edmonds. Everything is being replaced and upgraded from the buried utilities, sidewalks, street trees, street lights, signage, and pavement. It is a great project but it will certainly be easier to fully appreciate it when it is all done come November 19! The project is on schedule from a construction standpoint but even so it has been a very difficult time for the many businesses on this key retail block. We have done everything we can to support them to this point but many of them are still hurting from the loss of traffic on the street and especially the loss of adjacent parking.

“We would like to sponsor an event designed to show them they are appreciated and have not been forgotten by either their loyal customers or others they hope to be their loyal customers in the future!!!

“Please join us this Saturday, October 27th from 11am to 5pm for a CA$H MOB designed to stimulate these businesses in particular as well as the downtown retail core in general. Bring your debit cards, have lunch, have a beverage, have two beverages, visit the exceptional galleries, second hand store, get a frozen yogurt, and have fun! Your effort to do so will be greatly appreciated by your Mayor, the Downtown Chamber, and especially by these struggling small business owners who have invested so much in our community! Look for me, Mayor Dave Earling, I’ll be there from 11am to 1pm! Please stop me and say hello! Thanks in advance for your community spirit!”
