“Content is king,” said Rick Steves to the Write on the Sound crowd in the Edmonds Library Plaza tonight. And with a jam-packed session on travel writing, along with workshops on memoir, muses and mystery led by best selling author Carla Neggers and other writers, the 27th annual WOTS weekend confirmed its status as a leader in northwest literary conferences.

WOTS concludes tomorrow. For more information, see here.

  1. Yes, this is a brilliant conference! Highlights for me have been talking with Ray Rhamey (author and writing coach), Jessica Morrell (developmental editor), Steve White (author and educator), and Sheri Storm (local Edmonds author). I probably learned the most from Ron Gompertz in his Friday afternoon seminar on social media, and was most inspired by Stella Pope Duarte during her presentation on using dreams, visions, and revelations in our writing. Today I’m thrilled to hear Erica Bauermeister help us Track the Wild Character!

  2. ~*~ Bravos/Bravas to the WOTS Steering Committee and their slate of 2012 presenters.

Confirming Kim Votry’s description, it WAS a Love Fest!

Want success on Amazon? Turn to Ron Gompertz! Want humor and the insights of a great career? Sidle up to Carla Neggers! What a hilarious antidote on how to compel your readers to turn the page? Sit front and center at Jessica Morrell’s session. And on, and on. . .

THANK YOU, Write On The Sound staff and volunteers – what generosity toward the Edmonds-area writer’s community.
