The Swamp Creek & Western Railroad Association, which is hosting its 14th annual Holiday Open House this Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa will visit from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Swamp Creek & Western Railroad Association operates a train layout for the Port Columbia and Eastern, a fictitious bridge route over the Cascade Mountains.
Coffee, cookies and hot apple cider will be served throughout the event, which is co-sponsored by the Edmonds Amtrak Station and the Swamp Creek & Western Railroad Association. Fire District 1 will be collecting toys and non-perishable food during the event. Other participants are the Great Northern Historical Society, local railroad artist J. Craig Thorpe, Sound Transit and All Aboard Washington.
