Edmonds resident Connor Nelson announced a grand opening celebration of his gym, CrossFit North Sound, set for Jan. 5, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. The new gym is located in Everett’s Empire Industrial Park at 12432 Highway 99, Suites 80/81.
According to Nelson, “CrossFit North Sound is committed to forging elite fitness, building a stronger community, and creating a healthy life. CrossFit is the sport of fitness based on a core strength-and-conditioning program that combines weightlifting, gymnastics, cardio and plyometric movements to help clients lose fat, build strength, gain confidence and live healthier lives. It’s a program for everyone, whether you’re an elite athlete or have never been involved in athletics, and the workouts are scalable no matter your fitness level.”
Nelson is a certified CrossFit instructor and coach, and founded the CrossFit program at Western Washington University’s Student Recreation Center in 2010. “My true passion is coaching and teaching,” said Nelson, “and CrossFit has given me the opportunity to use my passion for coaching to help motivate others to achieve lifelong health and fitness goals.” Nelson said his new gym “will have a strong community focus that fosters self-improvement, supports local events, while helping clients improve physical fitness and achieve a healthier lifestyle.” Sounds like a perfect fit for anyone with a New Year’s fitness goal.
