Reminder: ‘Just Frogs’ hosts open house as Christmas Ship arrives in Edmonds Tuesday

Tom Dockins, James Burow, Thayer Cueter (Frog Lady), Carolyn Hart-Mylie and Bob Gutcheck are ready to welcome visitors to the Just Frogs Toads Too Amphibian Center Tuesday night.

The Argosy Cruise Christmas Ship will arrive in Edmonds Tuesday, Dec. 4, between 7-7:30 p.m.  In conjunction with the event, Just Frogs Toads Too Amphibian Center is holding a “Frogs of Folly” open house at the amphibian center, at the Edmonds Fishing Pier, 300 Admiral Way, Suite 104.

The open house runs from 5-8 p.m., and the center invites you to “hop in” and keep warm while waiting for your ship to arrive. Hot beverages, cookies and candy canes will be available. The Waterfront Café is providing coffee.

The City of Edmonds used to help fund festivities related to the Christmas Ship arrival but that support was eliminated due to budget cuts. Just Frogs Toads Too Amphibian Center has taken the lead, with the help of business donations.

“This event is the only winter waterfront event Edmonds has to offer our local families,” Just Frogs founder and President Thayer Cueter said. “We are looking to seek other participants in making this a bigger and better event as we attempt to build our waterfront activities here in Edmonds.”

Santa Frog will be available to greet children, and photo opportunities will be available.

The amphibian center could use some additional financial support as well as volunteers for this year’s event. Contact Thayer Cueter at 206-618-7232 or email to justfrogs@gmail.com if you can help.
