The weather outside has indeed been frightful, making it challenging to finally finish the Main Street Improvement project between 5th and 6th avenues. However, Public Works Director Phil Williams — who can always be counted on to maintain his sense of humor — provided this update Monday afternoon for those who are asking about project completion:

While Main Street has open for traffic and parking since midday Friday, 6th Street is closed at Main. “Both of these will remain that way until we pave the intersection at 6th,” Williams said. “We are hoping for a weather window on Wednesday to finish paving but that is a moving and fluid situation (pun intended). In the meantime, the irrigation system is being completed and trees will soon be placed followed by tree grates, street furniture, etc.”
