Have an opinon about Harbor Square redevelopment? Tell the City Council Tuesday

The Edmonds City Council is offering citizens another chance to express their thoughts on a plan that would open the door to redevelopment of the Harbor Square Business Complex.

The council has allocated two hours on its Tuesday night agenda for a third public hearing on the Edmonds’ Planning Board recommendation to incorporate the Master Plan for the Port of Edmonds-owned complex into the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The council may also take action on the plan following the hearing.

While not a proposal for an actual project on the current Harbor Square site, Council incorporation of the master plan into the city’s plan is a necessary first step toward redeveloping the aging 14.62-acre complex. One possible result could be the inclusion of buildings heights of three to five stories, up to a maximum of 55 feet.

You can read more about the project on the City of Edmonds’ Development Services page.

Also on the council agenda for Tuesday night is a proposal to consider adding support of gun control to the Edmonds City Council
legislative agenda.

The council meeting will start at 6:15 p.m. with an executive session on potential litigation, with the regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N., Edmonds. You can see the complete council agenda here.
