Declaring that she is “the peoples candidate for all neighborhoods and citizens,” first-term Edmonds City Councilmember and Lake Ballinger neighborhood resident Adrienne Fraley-Monillas has officially announced that she is running for re-election this year.

In a news release issued Friday, Fraley-Monillas noted that she is one of only two councilmembers who don’t live in the downtown Edmonds Bowl.

“It has been a privilege for me to serve the citizens of Edmonds for the past three years,” Fraley-Monllas said. “I pledge to continue to advocate as the peoples candidate for all neighborhoods and citizens of our great city during these difficult fiscal challenges.”

“Being from the Lake Ballinger neighborhood allows me to bring a diverse
perspective to the city council and ensures that all of the residents
of the council are represented,” Fraley-Monillas said.

Fraley-Monillas noted that she has received support from the following elected officials:  Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick, Snohomish County Council Chair Stephanie Wright and Councilmembers Dave Somers and Brian Sullivan, and the entire state legislative delegations in the 21st and 32nd Districts, which includes Senators Paul Shinn and Maralyn Chase as well as Representatives Marko Liias, Mary Helen Roberts, Ruth Kagi and Cindy Ryu.

An announcement of her official campaign kick off will be coming in the near future.
