VAPP is designed specifically for connecting veterans and their families to critical services and benefits, based on their needs and locations, as they navigate life’s transitions. In addition to helping connect them to higher education, VAPP easily allows veterans to navigate the Internet to locate services such as housing, employment, and medical services.
“We call it the first-of-its kind lifecycle tool,” said Operation Military founder and CEO Michael Schindler. “For the first time, we can use technology to personally connect service members to schools before they leave the military.”
Edmonds Community College is listed on the application’s educational resources page, which includes a phone number, an email address and link to the college’s website, where services tailored especially to veterans are explained. All colleges are sorted according to the user’s location. The college is also specifically highlighted on the VAPP Checklist — a web-only application limited to active service members at Joint Base Lewis-McChord transitioning out of the Army.
“Those who who choose the education track of the VAPP Checklist will have Edmonds Community College highlighted for them there,” said Jim Canfield, Operation Military Family president.
