Edmonds police investigating shooting

Edmonds police are investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old Edmonds woman that took place early Tuesday morning.

Here’s the news release from Edmonds police:

At 12:21 AM on March 12, 2013, Edmonds Police responded to investigate a reported shooting somewhere near 238 Pl SW and 76 Av W. Prior to police arrival, the victim was transported to Swedish Hospital by a private party. The victim, a 20 year old female Edmonds resident, was treated for gunshot wounds to her left arm and her right hand. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening.

The reason for the assault is not known, and the matter is currently under investigation by Edmonds Police Detectives. The initial investigation indicates that the situation is not random, and the victim may have known her assailant.

No arrests have been made, although two males were interviewed during the initial investigation. The gun that is believed to have been used in the incident has been recovered and is currently in police custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
