Wow great shot of the eagle and Mt Baker
GREAT SHOT!
Classic Edmonds! The Sound, the eagle, Mt. Baker, the ferry, and you with a camera perfectly positioned to capture it. I love it!
The previous comment (Mr. Vogel) correctly identified Mt. Baker, but the caption writer misplaced the volcanic peak in the Olympic Mountains in the original posting. It’s within the Cascade Range.
Yes thanks — our readers quickly pointed that out and we corrected it. And although the bird appears from a distance to be an eagle, a closer look reveals it’s actually a seagull!
Noted: we Edmonds-ites now living in North Kitsap are a bit protective of our Olympics backdrop.
OMG, that IS a gull!
I first saw this on my smartphone (OK, I’ll admit it…the phone is on my nightstand and I always check the weather and My Edmonds News before my feet hit the floor) and it sure looked like an eagle on that screen. But now that I see it on the computer, I see it’s really a gull :-(.
But a great shot anyway!
