Dear Editor:
I respond to the lengthy statement from A.C.E. Most of us love Edmonds! When a few negative folk always say NO , the rest of us understand reality. Edmonds’ tax base needs help. So let’s attract new business (housing too). Let’s think positive. Listen to the Planning Board. Watch our City Council.
Yours for a healthy, positive city,
Nancy Crim
Many of us agree with Joan Bloom rather than you. Please don’t presume to speak for those who disagree with you, or assume that tall residential buildings at Harbor Square, which may contrubute to our tax base years and years from now, are the only possibility.
Yours for a healthy, positive city that is not in any way as you envision it,

…and the debate goes on. As Mayor Earling suggested in his State Of The City address, if we stay cemented in our own desires and don’t seek a common ground paralysis will be the outcome. Yes, we have strong feelings on either side nevertheless finding that common ground is essential for the economic development and vitality of Edmonds.
We cannot stay the same; had the Port not moved forward and made the fabulous improvements to our beautiful waterfront we would still have old dilapidated buildings and a rendering plant (which emitted a horrible odor). Let us not forget that the Port is INVESTING in our city, I say; KUDOS TO THEM FOR CONTRIBUTING THE TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY TO SEE THIS PLAN THROUGH!!!!!
