While a formal lease has yet to be signed, the presumptive new operator of a downtown Edmonds grocery store in the former Petosa’s space is already making plans.
“We’ve pretty much agreed in principle on all pertinent points,” said Bill Wilson of Wilson Investments, which manages the property. “Resolution of the few remaining technicalities is in progress, and we hope to formally announce the new operator before the end of the month.”
Stopping short of naming the new owner, Wilson did provide some insights into plans for the new store.
“One important goal is to hire from the Edmonds community,” he said “I fully expect to see some familiar faces from Petosa’s among these.”
Shoppers can expect an expanded range of choices at prices that meet or beat the local competition. Plans also include retaining the auto license agency on site, which is remaining open in the interim.
Once the announcement is made, the new owner will begin remodeling and stocking to prepare for a grand opening later this spring.
Why all the secrets who is going to take over our much loved petosas??? I would think they (whoever they are) would be proud of who they are instead of making comments about “beating …..other prices in the area! Does that mean beating qfc or pcc, I can waste gas and go to tader joes and still “beat the prices at qfc or pcc…too bad trader joes didn’t get in they would have been perfect for our elderly community, friendly and the produce is excellent along with every thing else……..we didn’t want a ‘local national chain’ there goes edmonds….oh, by the way, how nice of you to hire ‘local familiar faces’!!!
